AUB’s CEO made a sub-Saharan Africa round trip and met with Mr. Eric Mothibi Molale, the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the President in Botswana. The meeting came against the backdrop of a mission carried out by Mr Grégoire Ndjaka, from 21 to 23 February 2018 in Botswana, in order to solidify relations with AUB’s Member Organizations.

In preparatory for the above meeting with the Botswana PS, Mr. Ndjaka held a working session with Madam Keitirele Mathapi, Director General of the Department of Broadcasting Services Botswana (DBS) as well as other Staff Members, with the aim of strengthening ties with the Union and elaborate more on how far the broadcasting industry has come with Africa, particularly Botswana. Prior to Gaborone, AUB’s CEO travelled to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, from February 7 to 10, 2018, where he met with the Director General of Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC), Mr Ayub Rioba. Together, the two men discussed topics of common interest related to the training of journalists and technicians, hence leading to improvement of broadcast content. In conclusion, the AUB’s CEO encouraged TBC and DBS to continue their active participation in AUB activities including the various meetings organized by the Union. Irene Gaouda #Anglais
